The Champion Style 460/472 Tandem Cartridge Seal is engineered for high pressure applications.
The tandem cartridge consists of a primary seal, which seals the product … liquid CO2, liquid ethane, liquid hydrocarbons, any product with low specific gravities and high pressure …, and a secondary seal, which serves dual service.
The secondary is a dry running contacting face design. There is no plan 53, no heating of CO2 to a gas, no gas regulation control panel, or nitrogen control panel required.
In the event of primary seal leakage, the secondary seals the product and contains leakage to a vent. The secondary chamber, when installed with a pressure switch, indicates seal fail.
